Choosing the right tyre for commercial trucks and buses is essential for ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Every tyre must meet vehicle manufacturer specifications, legal requirements, and industry standards—covering parameters such as size, load index, speed rating, and structural design. If vehicle modifications are made, it is critical to verify that replacement tyres comply with all regulations and receive any necessary approvals.
Used or second-hand tyres, or those involved in accidents, should always be carefully inspected by professionals before installation to guarantee safety and compliance. Incorrect tyre selection or misuse can accelerate wear on vehicle components and compromise safety.
Tyre size must be approved by the vehicle manufacturer and meet or exceed the axle’s maximum load capacity. Using tyres capable of carrying higher loads than approved does not authorize exceeding the manufacturer's limits. Tyres must also match appropriate wheel rims to avoid damage and ensure optimal contact with the road.

Different tyre models offer unique advantages such as fuel efficiency, durability, retreadability, traction, or wear resistance. Selecting the right tyre based on operational needs improves safety, reduces downtime, and lowers total cost of ownership.
Tread patterns should be selected according to axle position and specific application:
Steering Axles: Use tread patterns “F” or “Z” for optimal load capacity and handling. Avoid Remix tyres on first steering axles.
Drive Axles: Use “D” or “Z” patterns designed for high torque and heavy loads. “D” patterns generally provide superior performance.
Trailer Axles: Use “T” or “Z” patterns marked with “FRT” (Free Rolling Tyre) per ETRTO standards. “T” patterns must not be used on steering or drive axles.
